We first started a centre with 3 teachers and 3 children, and since then had helped many children over the years. And especially in recent years, some children were successfully included back into normal classes in local government schools. We are also working very closely with some local kindergartens and primary schools to ensure more successes in the coming years as this should be the way forward for many children with ASD.
In year June 2013, SAA was chosen by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Malaysia, to be one of their nation-wide pioneering projects in setting up a Taska for children with ASD in Sibu, aged 2 to 6 years old.
Taska Autisme Sibu was thus started, located at No 18, Lorong Kwong Ann, Sibu, with the initial transfer of all our EIP children from Agape Centre to this location on 2nd January, 2014 with 7 children and 3 full-time teachers/trainers and a cook. In 2017, the Taska has moved back to Agape Centre for better administrative running.
To date, we have around 60 children in our Centre and with many more children in the waiting list.
